“I have been teaching Mathematics for over 15 years across three countries, and I started at 22. That is not something I say to impress, it is context for what I bring into every session.
My career has taken me through schools across the United Kingdom, Perth, and Busselton, bridging courses for international students at UWA College, and everything in between. Teaching Mathematics across different curricula and to students from all over the world has given me a perspective that most teachers simply do not have. I see connections between topics, alternative ways to explain concepts, and approaches to problem solving that come directly from that breadth of experience.
I have also been a tutor since before I ever stood in front of a classroom. So, when I say I understand what students need, I mean it in both directions, as someone who has taught hundreds of students in formal settings, and as someone who has sat with a struggling student one on one and figured out exactly where things went wrong.
As a former Head of Department, the way I plan and deliver content is deliberately different to what most tutors offer. Anyone can help a student with their homework. Systematically sequencing content, planning for common misconceptions before they arise, and aligning every session to the marking criteria — that is a different set of skills entirely. It comes from years of practice and evidence-based teaching, not from simply being good at Maths.
My students have consistently performed at a high level. I have had the privilege of tutoring the Dux of a local WA school in both 2021 and 2024. But the results I am most proud of are the students who came in overwhelmed and left with clarity, confidence, and a plan.
My approach is warm and encouraging, but I will always be honest with you. After every session I send personalised lesson notes with specific retrieval practice recommendations. This is because what happens between sessions matters just as much as the session itself. I will tell a student clearly what they need to work on, help them build a study schedule around resources that actually work, and address the mindset and exam technique issues that hold most students back well before the content does.
I created PeerPath because I believe every student deserves more than one minute of teacher attention per lesson. And I built it around one non-negotiable standard: every tutor at PeerPath is a qualified, registered teacher.. A trained professional who knows how to teach, it is this difference that shows up in results”
